Bitter Sweet End

Today was the last day at my internship for the summer and I must say it is pretty bittersweet. I have finished my 12 page paper for seminar and have closed out my case load for the summer and I am ready to RELAX

As excited as I am to relax for the rest of the summer it was also kind of sad to terminate today. I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement so far and feel as though I have made a lot of progress in my work. The staff that I work with and the clients that come each day have been awesome. I have learned a great deal so far about drugs and alcohol and feel blessed to have an internship not only with social work but also getting training in drug and alcohol rehab. This is knowledge that I can bring with me in the future and will help me in my goal to some day become a high school social worker. I am excited to get started again in a few weeks and to have more responsibility!

But for now this is my theme song....

  1. I feel this summer has created a somewhat odd setup for our upcoming school year. I feel I am just starting to get comfortable in my internship and now we all must take two weeks off from them. I'm excited to start back up in the fall, but I am worried I might forget some of the things I have learned over the summer. But I ain't going to complain about getting to relax for the next two weeks! Enjoy your break as I know I will.

  2. I love it, Amanda. Your words were well said and the music video was great. Advanced standing is a mixed blessing. But the vacation is important - so enjoy it. You will be surprised when you return. You will jump right back in. Talk to you both soon.
